Gerardo Gomez
LeGAL ASSISTANT
Gerardo was born in Guerrero, Mexico and immigrated to the United States at the age of three. Growing up undocumented and raised by a community of immigrants in Southern California, Gerardo firmly believes that no human is illegal.
Gerardo joined AAN as a legal assistant in 2018. Prior to joining AAN, Gerardo was a DreamSF Fellow with the City of San Francisco’s Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs where he was placed at Pangea Legal Services and assisted Attorneys with Asylum, VAWA, and U-Visa cases.
In 2017, Gerardo received his BA in Political Science from San Francisco State University and plans to attend law school in hopes of serving the immigrant community as a lawyer one day.
Gerardo has been active in defending the continuation of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). He participates in pushing for substantive immigration reform, having taken part in various protests and has had his opinion published in various local, state, and national newspapers.
Gerardo is fluent in Spanish.
