More Added Bureaucracy to an Already Burdensome Immigration Process!
On August 28, 2017, USCIS announced that all adjustment of status applications based on employment will be scheduled for an in-person interview. The purpose of the in-person interview, USCIS noted, is to provide the agency with the opportunity to determine an applicant’s credibility. Also, beneficiaries of Refugee/Asylee (I-730) petition whose relatives are in the United States will be subjected to an in-person interview. Previously, applicants in these categories did not require an in-person interview.
